Bit Learning

Bit Learning was a Seattle-based business that had a revolutionary idea: take all those 8-hour web courses and split them up into 5-10 min modules, so you only had to buy what you wanted to learn.

The implications of this reorganization fundamentally changed the way corporate learning was accomplished. No longer was it "Go away and learn, come back and try to do". Now it was "learning while you're doing" - while at your own computer!

Through these innovations we were able to achieve much higher recall rates on our material. We also developed intuitive ways of organizing the information so that users could find the learning material they needed from a variety of different search approaches.

Unfortunately, the combination of unresolved domain name disputes, litigation from the competition, and senior management in-fighting deflated the wind in the sails of momentum for this potentially great opportunity. In the end the CEO fandangled all the company assets and sold them to Serebra.
